| Apprenticeships allow a young person to learn, work, earn and get qualified all at the same time.
Archway sponsors candidates to join this work-based scheme, run by the CITB, as a way of motivating and investing new talent in the company.
The skills you develop will be recognized throughout the construction industry in the form of NVQ’s (National Vocational Qualifications). These are nationally recognised, competence based qualifications that prove standards of work expected in the industry have been met.
Training takes place both at college or a training centre and on site. There are two parts to gaining an NVQ:
- college training and assessment
- work-based evidence (experience) gained on site
English and Welsh Apprenticeships.
There are two levels within the Construction Apprenticeship Framework. Both lead to NVQs, Key Skills Qualifications and a Technical Certificate. An apprentice will have to attain all of these.
The apprenticeship framework also includes Employment Responsibilities and Rights (ERR) and any additional qualifications attached to the trade.
